Guiding Lights
I am from a family that loves to laugh. I am an insightful, empathetic seeker who enjoys connecting people to the things they love and the subjects that interest them. rces and resiliency through writing and facilitation. Here are some of my guiding principles and beliefs.
I believe that being brave means showing up (maybe in conflict, fear, or uncertainty) and being as vulnerable and open as I can be. It means being kind and determined, saying yes to more adventure, and learning to be comfortable with discomfort. Being brave means having boundaries and respecting ourselves and others, knowing my limits, and agreeing to disagree in the spirit of connection when needed. It does not mean I am unafraid.
I believe in going beyond black-and-white binaries to understand the existence of the many shades of gray so that issues and topics can be seen in all their complexity. My intention is to use kindness and curiosity as my guide.
I believe that softening my heart when I want to defend myself and be right allows me greater access to my inner resources. When I can respond from a softened place, I can see someone else's humanity and my own with greater clarity. Consequently, I am a more caring person. Softening is simple, but it isn't easy.
