Below you will find courses that I am in the process of creating. I’m very excited to be offering these classes in 2024. Please consider signing up for my blog to get the latest news on upcoming offerings and opportunities to create together. I invite you to contact me if interested. Thoughts? Feedback? Which one would you like to take?

Becoming Crone

“Fighting for the homeland of the interior.” --Kendra Webster, Poet

On my 60th birthday, a friend wished me a happy birthday and said, “Welcome to Cronehood!” I was ecstatic! I decided to look up “crone” in the dictionary installed on my laptop. It said, “An old woman who is thin and ugly.” Really? Could there be a more explicitly awful and implicitly diminishing definition? Do you hate the word, Crone? The actual etymology of Crone is “crown.” A crone is someone who is honored for their experience and wisdom.

Please join me as we explore aging and transform our thoughts and hearts towards ourselves and our aging sisters as we become Crone. In Becoming Crone, we will write, collage, and discuss what it means to be a crone in our society. We will look at Cronedom through a lens of our own making at what becoming Crone means to us and how we might move forward with a new perspective. What will we discover?

This class is for women who would love to take an inner journey down the path of aging with dignity, strength, knowledge, joy, and a toolbox of support. By looking at aging through the lens of our inner wisdom and awareness (and with sisters by our side), we can enjoy the fruits of our inquiry and proudly wear the crown of aging. I hope you’ll join me in exploring what it means to become Crone.

Mind Mind Mapping

When I feel confused by a massive amount of information, or I want to brainstorm, or have a graphic representation of an idea on the page instead of in my head, I use a mind map. I use many colors of Sharpies on a large piece of paper and let my mind come up with all manner of associations, so I have a clearer picture of what’s in the field or where I want to go. Mind maps are fun, stepping stones to greater clarity, and can move you further into understanding any topic you desire. This class is for anyone who wants another sorting tool in their toolbox.

Caregiving 101

As a caregiver, you may be stressed due to finances, care coordination, health concerns, and managing employment. The National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) and AARP studied caregiving in America. As of 2020, there are over 53 million caregivers in the U.S. “Nearly one in five (19%) are providing unpaid care to an adult with health or functional needs.” (NAC) Caregivers say that their health is worse due to their caregiving.

Caregiving can be isolating and overwhelming. I cared for my father, who lived with Lewy Body Dementia for almost five years. I’ve also helped and cared from a distance for other family members who have needed support. If you’d like to know what it means to advocate for another, how to make the most of every doctor visit, how to create a team of people who have your back, and how to care for yourself, please join me. You don’t have to do this alone.
